#1 - Low rear speaker volume on Bose-equipped cars.

This is nothing new for stereo gurus or those in this thread that went before us and tried and conquered, so I'm just putting this here are a reference note for anyone who would find it useful. So, did some more searching and reading and it appears that there are ways around the installation/sound issues for the various Chinese (and even aftermarket) units. I don't need DVD/CD slot.Īny other recommendations under $400 or thoughts on the above? Yes, I occasionally use nav, but not that often and I think I can survive with having it on the phone and just listen to directions. Of course, outside of calling it would have to be controlled from my phone, which I don't like. What I'm truly after is enabling a back-up camera (already installed one) and enable hands-free BT calling and music/internet radio over BT from my phone. I say this, because I even started to think about getting just a basic BT receiver unit like the Pioneer AVH-290BT for around $200.

With the new version of Android Auto, I can try it on my phone and see if that is something I truly need. But that started to sound a bit too much for me as I was contemplating what I really use/need in a stereo functionality. The next best thing in that department (both CarPlay and Android Auto receiver) is the Sony XAV-AX100. The unit I would really like is JBL CP100, but it's not coming until Q1 2017, if ever. I know I don't want any of the Chinese clones. So, I started seriously looking at options for my B6 with Bose.
